Many people are confused by all of the names used to describe sunglasses. There are of course Designer / Brand Name Sunglasses, which are the original brand name sunglasses from designers like Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and etc. Then there are Compare To / Inspired By sunglasses, which are made to look similar in style and quality to that of the original designer sunglasses with the exception that they do not bear any of the names or logos of the original designers. Sunglasses are also sometimes called Replicas, Knock Off or Fake Sunglasses. Replica sunglasses, Knock Off and Fake sunglasses are generally sunglasses that are exact copies of the original designers and also usually bear the logos of those designers.

Replica Sunglasses, Fake and Knock Off Sunglasses, are illegal to sell if they bear the names and logos of the original designers. The designers names and logos are often times Trademarked making it illegal for any other company or individual to use their name or logo.

So how do you as a retailer know that the sunglasses that you are buying are legal to sell? Another very easy way to tell is by asking you sunglass supplier. Be an informed consumer by asking your supplier all of the questions that you have about their products. If the supplier can not answer your questions, then you may want to consider looking for a new supplier that can suit your needs better.
