Many retailers only consider sunglasses as an adult item. Thinking that their customers are only going to be interested in sunglasses for themselves not for the kids. But really there are a lot of parents that would purchase sunglasses for their children if the kids sunglasses were offered.

Lets face it, we all think it is so cute when you see a little girl and her mom dressed a like with the little girl looking just like a mini me version of her mom. Children also like to like like their parents. Little boys love to act like smaller versions of their dads and little girls love to put on makeup and look just like their moms. This is one of the main reasons that kids sunglasses are a great addition to any retail location.

Our children eyes are extremely sensitive to UV rays. Just like us, children squint and try to shade their eyes when out in the sun. However unlike us, children do not know how to protect the one set of eyes that they are given. As adults we know the importance of blocking those harmful UVA and UVB rays by wearing sunglasses with protective lenses. Children are even more sensitive than adults that is why it is so important to make sure that we protect our children eyes in the same way we would our own.

So knowing all of this information, as retailers how do you know what to purchase for children sunglasses? Well the lens quality should be the first thing you inquire about. All sunglasses lenses, whether for adult or kids sunglasses, should have 100% UVA and UVB protection. This type of protection will block all of the suns harmful rays. The next thing to consider of course is the style. Most children sunglasses are plastic framed. This is so that they don't break as easy. Metal frames tend to be thinner and break faster. Take into consideration the "mini me" sunglasses when you choose the styles you want to sell. Choose girls styles that look like adult women styles, and choose boys styles that look like dads sports glasses.

Following these tips and suggestions will hopefully enlighten your perception of kids sunglasses. Adding a few kids sunglasses to your retail business will help boost your business and will protect your smallest customers eyesight as well.
