Shutter shades are a great example of vintage style brought back into the fashion scene. They originated in the 80s, so calling them “vintage” may make a few of our customers feel a bit dated. But this can easily be remedied by wearing our modern take on this classic style.

At the heart of their design, shutter shades are simple sunglasses. What make them unique is their “shutters.” These bars can range from a half shutter, with only a few bars, or a full shutter, with both lenses being entirely stripped by the bars. Because of the shutters, they are not practical for driving or sports activities, but they are fitting for parties and outdoor fun.

They are made even more entertaining by the variety of colors in which they come in. Some are one solid color, while others have arms that are a different color from the frames and shutters. Another set have their shutters changing colors, while the arms and frames are the same color. The most enjoyable set is arguably our splatter shutter shades, which look like they were just splashed in different colors, while the actual body is one full color.
