Color Me Happy
Colored lenses are everywhere. We see them in the chic celebrity styles as often as we do in the adorable children’s designs. But these various colors are not just another fashion statement. In fact, the different colors actually protect your eyes in individual ways from the damage that UV rays can cause. Below, we outline how the various colors protect in their own way.
Grey is the most popular lens color in the United States. Grey tinted lenses can be used for everyday activities, such as driving, or for more extreme hobbies, like high-energy outdoor fun. They are so popular because they do not alter natural colors. Reds are still reds; blues are still blues, etc., even while they reduce glare.
Green lenses have the same natural color affect that make grey tinting so popular, giving the world a cooler appearance without feeling abnormal. They block UV rays well and are often used in the ever popular aviator-style sunglasses.
Brown colored lenses are most effective at filtering hazy lights, such as in foggy weather. They are most favorable for activities such as skiing or boating, when vision can become obscured by various weather conditions.
Yellow, or Amber, lenses do distort natural colors, but they are affective at enhancing depth perception. They are popular in hunter’s glasses, but not recommended for activities such as driving.
While these colors are the most practical because of their varying degrees of usefulness, we cannot forget the fashionable colors like rose or blue. These lenses filter light much like brown lenses, but can be considered impractical for activities such as driving. It has been suggested that rose colored lenses are easier on the eyes if worn for longer periods of time.
It is obvious that the different colors could be seen as another way of styling ones wardrobe, but in all actuality, these colors have very practical uses. Check out all of our available styles today at www.wholesalediscountsunglasses.com.
